HOW PURPLE BUTTERFLY WAS FORMED AND WHAT WE AIM TO DO

Purple Butterfly was born to empower children and individuals with ASD through a multi-step method of detection and personalized intervention for each person.

In May 2020 when the world was grappling with the fear and uncertainty of Covid-19, a pandemic hitherto unknown to mankind, Purple Butterfly Technologies, a health-tech company was conceived and born.

The co-founders of the company, Debangshu Dasgupta and Subhrojyoti Mukherjee, being spectrum parents themselves were keen that India should have its own resource-based, medically- approved collaborative platform to provide adequate support for early detection and a complete management system for those on the spectrum. Beingtechnology experts, both come with rich and varied experience in managing large enterprises and scaling up successful startups.

EARLY MILESTONES

• Center of Advanced research and Excellence in Autism and Development Disorder (CARE-ADD) belonging to St John’s National Academy of Health Sciences (one of the most globally respected institutions in ASD space) in India saw immense value in the proposition and the way the platform has been conceptualized. St. John’s decided to take up 5% equity and be a partner in this journey. CARE-ADD has designed an exclusive 2-step screening process.

• Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), a part of the Manipal Group with global foot print that has the largest chain of hospitals across India has decided to participate by: (a) providing the grant for the clinical research at CARE-ADD; (b) create and launch a multi-disciplinary 1-year post graduate program to address the huge gap on the supply side of the resource availability.

• DERBI Foundation, one of the most respected healthcare accelerators in India selected Purple Butterfly Technologies in its prestigious incubation program in the year 2023 and decided to take up 1% equity in the company.
